Velvet Cat Static – Song List

[Intro]
Meow
Meow-meow
Mrrp
Meow

[Verse 1]
On the porch tile, cool
Tail tucked in the dusk
Your bowl makes a little clink
And the air feels softly crust

The TV in the next room glows
Through the lace and the door
You blink at the hallway rug
Like you lived here before

[Pre-Chorus]
Meow, meow
Tilted and sweet
Meow, meow
Out of the beat

Meow, meow
Hide, then glow
Meow, meow
Here we go

[Chorus]
Meow in the dark
Meow in the hall
(meow in the dark)
Meow, little ghost
Meow through it all
(meow through it all)

Mrrp, mrrp, meow
Stay and don’t scare me now
Mrrp, mrrp, meow
Haunted and cute somehow

[Verse 2]
You jump at the fan
Then nap on the stairs
One ear hears tomorrow
One eye stares at the chair

Milk ring on the floor
Like a moon gone wrong
You sing to the vacuum
In a wobble song

[Pre-Chorus]
Meow, meow
Soft little spark
Meow, meow
Under the bark

Meow, meow
Faded and slow
Meow, meow
Back we go

[Chorus]
Meow in the dark
Meow in the hall
(meow in the dark)
Meow, little ghost
Meow through it all
(meow through it all)

Mrrp, mrrp, meow
Stay and don’t scare me now
Mrrp, mrrp, meow
Haunted and cute somehow

[Bridge]
[Filtered tape break]
Purr on the windowsill
Scratch at the blue night
Tiny house, crooked dream
Everything’s almost right

[Final Chorus]
Meow in the dark
Meow in the hall
(meow in the dark)
Meow, little ghost
Meow through it all
(meow through it all)

Mrrp, mrrp, meow
Stay and don’t scare me now
Mrrp, mrrp, meow
Haunted and cute somehow

Meow, meow, meow
Sleep in the static now
Meow, meow, meow
Whimsy and weird somehow
